Walk into a child’s bedroom today and you’ll probably find LED lights, Alexa speakers and enough charging cables to power a small town.
Walk into any of your friends’ 90s kids bedrooms and you’d immediately know whose room it was. They were chaotic, colourful and filled with things we’d begged our parents for after seeing them in the Argos catalogue.
Some we actually owned.
Some we only dreamed about.
Here’s everything that made a 90s bedroom complete.

No 90s kids bedroom was complete without plastic stars stuck to the ceiling.
They glowed for approximately four minutes before giving up for the night, but that didn’t stop us believing we were sleeping under a galaxy.

It even had a built-in VHS player if you were really lucky.
Moving it required at least three adults and a strong back though.

Comfortable for about five minutes.
Impossible to get out of with any dignity.
Every friend somehow ended up sitting on one.

Looking back, 90s kids bedrooms weren’t perfectly coordinated.
Nothing matched, there were posters stuck on the walls with Blu-Tack, toys piled into plastic drawers and enough random gadgets to fill an Argos aisle. But they felt personal.
Every room reflected the child who lived there, and that’s probably why we remember them so fondly.
